Awana is our Wednesday night program for kids and teens during the school year. There is an Awana club for children ages three through twelfth grade. The Awana program helps children read and study the Bible, and meets every Wednesday night, at 6:30pm.
What is Awana?
Based in the Chicago area, Awana is the only organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship programs for ages 2 to 18 that actively involve parents, church leaders and mentors. Each week, more than 1.5 million children and youth, 250,000 volunteers and 170-plus field staff take part in Awana in over 22,000 churches in the U.S. and internationally.
The founders of Awana derived the Awana name from the first letters of “Approved workmen are not ashamed” as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 of the Bible. Today, more than 12,000 U.S. churches run Awana with programs in all 50 states.
In addition to our regular Awana club time on Wednesday, we also have special activities and functions throughout the year. From special theme nights, to an annual skate party in December, as well as an overnight camping activity in the spring our Awana club is bursting full of fun and excitement!
Another highlight of being involved in Awana clubs is the fun and challenging competitions we get to compete in. Whether it is the Grand Prix, Bible quizzing, or Awana Games, our desire is to see our clubbers grow in grace and knowledge and to do their very best for the glory of God!
